Mathyas swapped his life in Montreal as a young advertising executive to become a shepherd in Provence. The harsh reality of the pastoral world, however, forced him to question his romantic vision of the profession. The visit of Élise, a civil servant who has cavalierly left her job, gives a new direction to Mathyas' quest. Together, they begin a transhumance with a flock of sheep in their care. Crossed by encounters and trials in the mountains, they will shape a new life for themselves.
